The Hispanic American Historical Review (HAHR) was founded in 1918. HAHR was one of the first journals to study Latin American history and culture in the United States . The HAHR strives to maintain its excellence by publishing work that is about the history of Latin America and by using only the best articles it can find. The issues range from book reviews, background and general information, history, archival reports and obituaries. The book reviews are set up in different time periods, Colonial Period, National Period, and International and Comparative, that are focusing on Latin culture. The book reviews deal with scholarship on history of Latin America and culture. In later issues they have special issue topics regarding Latin America 's history, gender and sexuality issues, and Colonial Brazil. The special issues use interdisciplinary and theoretical views. The journal will help out any student or teacher who is trying to find out information on the history of Latin America or just a book to read that pertains to the Latin America culture or history.
