Dear Current and Prospective Students,
I graduated with a Bachelor's in English in the spring of 2005 (quite possibly the hottest day ever!). I thoroughly enjoyed my time at CSUCI. I began the program not knowing exactly what I was I going to do with my degree but before I graduated I had decided that I wanted to teach. I was a substitute teacher for a while while working on my teaching credential, and I now teach 9th, 10th, and 12th grade Resource English at Newbury Park High School. I feel that the English program was a wonderful and valuable experience for me. I know that I am well equipped to teach English because of the great instruction I received. The teaching staff was very supportive, so much so that I wish that I had chosen to complete my Master's degree at CSUCI. There were several teachers that always had interesting lectures and were personally inspiring to me including Mary Adler, Julia Balen, and Andrea Marzell. I feel very lucky to have graduated from CSUCI and I hold it as one of my greatest accomplishments because I completed school while working part-time and being married with two kids! Thank you for the great experience!
