The Excitement of the Written Word

After obtaining my BA in English in 2005, I entered the teaching credential
program at CSUCI. I am currently teaching students literature and basic reading skills at
Rio Mesa High School in Oxnard, California. I credit the English program at CSUCI for
instilling a sense of admiration and excitement in the written (and spoken) word. This is
something I try to pass on to my own students on a daily basis.
