Faculty Advisors

Students in English have a number of options available to help them move smoothly through the major, get questions answered, and inquire about career options.

For general university advising, including degree checks, graduation information, course substitutions, and transfer requirements, students should contact the Academic Advising Center.

For specific information about the English program, students should contact the Academic Advisor for English, Dr. Jacquelyn Kilpatrick.

Students interested in the English Education Emphasis and/or those who are pursuing careers in the teaching of English at the middle or high school level after graduation should contact the Advisor for English Education, Dr. Mary Adler. Students in this emphasis are required to seek advising at least once per year.

Those students interested in the Creative Writing Emphasis should contact Dr. Jacquelyn Kilpatrick for advising.

Inquiries about the Multicultural Literature Emphasis should be made to Dr. Jacquelyn Kilpatrick.
